Sydney Scale Rally

Bowylie Large Scale Rally

Pilot Briefing Notes

The object of the rally is for all of us to have a

SAFE & ENJOYABLE

Weekend of flying and socializing.

·        Judging of models will be revised totally for the 2011 rally. Models will have to fly to be considered for a prize. Please let us know if you are changing models so we don't miss it in the judging.

·        The Saturday night Galah Dinner will be held on the Saturday night. Cost is T.B.A  per person. More info soon.

·        Bring your cameras, this will be the best gathering of scale models ever held in Australia.

·        Bowylie Field will be open to pilots and crew on Friday the 8th of April for those that may like to get a feel for the field and have a fly.

·        Transmitter Pound is in operation all day (Sat & Sun). All transmitters (EXCEPT 2.4) must be impounded at all times and can only be released by pound keeper.

·        Before you take your model to the ready box you must have your frequency key in the board (except 2.4).

·        No engine run ups or testing in the pits.

·        Aircraft will be started in the ready boxes. No engine running in pits. Engines to be switched off when returning to the pits. Engine run up area will be available and must be used.

·        Circuit direction will be into the prevailing breeze or as directed by Flight Line Controller.

·        All models must fly a rectangular or racetrack circuit.

·        Aerobatic manoeuvres must be called and cleared by the FLC and must be in circuit direction unless traffic permits otherwise.

·        All flying must be in front of the flight line, no exceptions. The 30 metre rule applies. Infringement of this will terminate that pilot’s flying session.

·        In the event of a deadstick, the pilot should call loudly ‘Deadstick’ and all other pilots will remain clear.

·        Pilots must have an observer with them while flying.

·        A maxi mum of 6 models in the air at any one time. We will try and have 5or 6 in the air at any time with one preparing to land and one ready for take off.

·        If you are waiting on a frequency, identify who has it and be ready when they return the frequency key to the pound.

·        Pilots are to hold frequency for maximum twenty minutes per session. As soon as your aircraft is returned to the pits the Tx MUST BE RETURNED TO THE POUND IMMEDIATLEY (except 2.4)

·        The Flight Line Controllers decision is final.

·

·        Any pilot or crew member found not to be enjoying themselves immensely will be taken behind the big hangar and flogged with a stock whip.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND FLYING
